Roger Bullivant and Eon: Drakelow, Derbyshire
DTA have been providing ongoing transportation advice to Roger Bullivant Limited and Eon in relation to this former power station site near Burton on Trent. The site lies adjacent to the border of two Regions and hence two local authorities. DTA’s involvement has included the promotion of site through the Local Plan process for the two local authorities.
 
DTA provided detailed input into the design and layout of the masterplan and overall planning strategy for the site.  DTA were responsible for the production of detailed Transport Assessment and Travel Planning work to support an outline applciaiton for circa 2000 new dwellings and 65,000 sqm of new employment development. 
 
DTA provided support during the public consultation process and ultimately the planning authority resolved to grant consent for the application.

Multiplex Stanifer: Mereham, Cambridgeshire
 
DTA are responsible for the development of a comprehensive transportation strategy to support a proposed major mixed use community providing at least 5,000 houses for the Cambridgeshire sub region. The transport initiatives include major enhancements to public transport links into the Cambridge City area. DTA have been involved throughout the evolution of the proposals including the promotion of the scheme through the Structure Plan, RSS and Local Plan process.
 
Newmarket/Felixstowe Study – EERA
 
The Study, for the Regional Assembly, involved evolving a management and investment strategy to serve current and future demands on the A14 corridor. DTA provided specialist input on rail, port and general freight issues together with general support to the development and evaluation of options to improve the efficiency of transport in the corridor.
 
Dubai Ports: London Gateway
 
DTA are providing professional advice on all transportation aspects of implementing this major port and distribution park in the Lower Thames Corridor. This includes reviewing the operation of the site and the associated transport impact, negotiating with the highway authorities arrangements for the implementation of required improvements to the M25 motorway, the A13 Trunk Road and local access roads, and the development of site travel movement initiatives.
 
Helioslough: Strategic Rail Freight Interchange
 
DTA provided transportation advice in relation to proposals for a new Strategic Rail Freight Interchange facility to serve the Greater London area. The scope of work has included a comprehensive assessment of need for the facility; review of freight and passenger rail demand, capacity and impact; review of highway requirements including the design of a new bypass for the village of Park Street; comprehensive assessment of accessibility to site and assessment of public transport requirements. Preparation of supporting technical documents and promotion of the proposals through the East of England, South East and London Plans alongside expert witness support at the Public Inquiry.
 
Mere Green, Birmingham
 
DTA were responsible for the production of the Transport Assessment for this major mixed use and retail re-development site in Sutton Coldfield. Work involved detailed assessment of car parking demand in the area and impacts of proposals in terms of car parking provision for retail and residential uses.
 
Kingmoor Park, Carlisle
 
DTA are providing on-going advice in relation to Carlisle’s strategic employment site. Issues arising include the interaction of the site with the Carlisle Northern Development Route, a new Carlisle western bypass which passes through the site.
 
Greenhithe Marina Ltd
 
DTA prepared a revised Transport Assessment for a proposed 180 berth marina on the Thames at Greenhithe. A bespoke travel plan was also developed with the client with the aim in particular in addressing local concerns regarding parking and access. DTA provided expert witness support at the Local Planning Inquiry.
 
British Airways: Heathrow
 
On behalf of British Airways, DTA are developing a surface access strategy to accommodate major expansion of their operations at Heathrow Airport. The key objective is to maximize access to the airport by public transport (heavy rail, underground, bus and coach). The work, which is being undertaken in association with the airport operator BAA, has to date involved a comprehensive review of overall transport issues and constraints in relation to both employees and passengers and identification of principle strategy initiatives.
 
Playfootball
 
DTA have provided Transport Statements for a number of 5-A-Side and 7-A-Side football facilities around the UK put forward by ‘Playfootball’, part of the Sports and Leisure Group.
The supporting statements considered the potential for sustainable access, parking provision and interaction with any existing uses already present on site. Playfootball have successfully established centres across the UK including Luton, Bournemouth, Portsmouth, Blackpool, Preston and Liverpool.
 
Pye Homes: Woodstock Local Planning Inquiry
 
DTA have worked successfully with Pye Homes in promoting a site in Woodstock for residential development through the West Oxfordshire Local Plan Review. DTA submitted evidence and provided expert witness support at the Inquiry, successfully arguing that the Pye Homes site was more appropriate in terms of size and location when compared to a larger competing site on the outskirts of the town.
DTA have provided subsequent support in developing a detailed access strategy for the site which is in keeping with the character of the town with Oxfordshire highways and West Oxfordshire District Council. DTA advised on site layout issues and have undertaken a Transport Assessment to support the detailed application. Construction of this development is now underway.
 
EC Harris LLP: Bromsgrove Medical Centre
 
DTA undertook a Transport Assessment for the Bromsgrove Medical Centre. The centre will allow two existing practices to relocate to a more accessible location whilst enabling the expansion of local health services in Bromsgrove.
DTA provided detailed analysis of the re-assignment of trips fromthe existing surgeries alongside consideration of new trips generated by the expansion of services at the new centre. DTA worked with the existing practices and Worcestershire County Council to develop a Travel Plan which would encourage staff and patients to travel to the new building more sustainably to not only reduce environmental impact but also to encourage healthier lifestyles.
